if you havent seen the film every time he hears the fingers click, its an on off anchor point for his "hypnotic trance"- its a silly example technically, but a fantastic illustrative metaphor

LOL! That was excellent I think I read somewhere that Basil Rathbone was an accomplished fencer in his own right - that's why they always used him in these swashbuckler movies.
