| didn't disserve to be in any other section as it was related to nothing really. just a cool song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9yR7VXVC70 reminded of songs like 'what's the time mr. wolf' maybe it's a factor of my age, but then again i've not really understood lyrics/pronunciation since i was a kid--always simply adding my own, usually only liking stuff because it was catchy. which started me liking international music...i didn't get most songs anyway, better still if it was a given because of a language barrier this one's in english, but it sounds like a foreign group by the unusual pronunciation of certain words. and i can't for the life of me get what it's really about. most musicians dabble in their own inner googly world of cryptic self meaning anyway. i say this not because i erroniously think anyone would truly care but just in case the song is about molesting sheep and i missed it because i was thinking it was sort of retro bond movie catchy and didn't notice | |

| Couldn't play the sheep shagging song. "not available in your country" But the Amadou and Mariam songs were cool. | |

| I wonder why that is. Quite a few clips with music added to them have their sound muted due to lack of licence to use from the record companies. It might be related to that stuff. | |

| Maija, that was worth the wait!!! my keyboard/pc at home has sound. the one at work--since i'm in the dark ages there for equipment, does not. nice tunes. BTW: i lived in dakar when i was little--for a time, with my dad [journalist]. that was a nice flashback. one of my favorite fast foods there were 'niems'. i think that's the spelling for the abundant vietnamese spring rolls we used to cram down our gobs by the sea side. | |

| Ah, Russell - I remembered that you were an international man of mystery! So just one more Amadou and Mariam for you. Actually they are originally from Mali, next door, but what the hell! I like his guitar playing in this one particularly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WmSwYeb28k Oh, and I'll think I'll go get me some of those Vietnamese fresh rolls, very tasty! I live in 'Little Saigon' so they are just a few blocks away .... | |

| Maija, really nice music. there's was a time when i loved anything mali or west african if it had that special hypnotic sunset with windblowing in the palms quality. i can't remember all the names: baba maal/yousen dour/salif keita [and i'm probably spelling all of them wrong . really nice. i like the west african stuff because it combines the cultural stuff with a hint of pop...sort of like why i liked rock steady wake back whenever. check this one out. i have to take it on faith that it's the song i remember, with the added bonus of a story that is easy to get from the video [back on my soundless PC]. if chipmonks are singing this one, i appologize in advance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uILWuWiVapg there are some really good ones coming out of india, but [my opinion] it's a 1 in 50 shot--much quantity vs. quality. but the quality ones are just incredible, better than most elsewhere. i remember fragments of songs i wasn't able to find again, even now. there was some woman named deepak dhillon, who's songs you can find [but they're not all that amaizing, when compared to this isolated song she sang on a movie soundtrack...i can't find it on youtube, i found it on 'i-tunes under ---IK JIND[album] YAAD [song writer] DEEPAK DHILLON [singer] and no were else. that one is on my wife's ipod now, which she is forced to reliquish when she goes to work. nice trading cultural beats with you | |

| Couldn't find what I was looking for on youtube, but if you search itunes for "Brent Lewis and Peter Wood" and "Moussa Traorč" there's some cool drum stuff. I like my drumming without singing so I only got "take" and "koteba" from Moussa Traorč's stuff. It's on "Mali Foli." Brent Lewis and Peter Wood's album on itunes is more of an Australian themed music. | |

| Drumming is great for training Eskrima where so much depends on rhythm. I'll check out your recommendations RichardB Russell, I know you spent some time in India, as did I. This movie soundtrack was playing everywhere when I was there. I particularly like the randomly weird and wonderful choreography on this track ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ent3xaj6_I&NR=1 | |

| The drumming tunes of Moussa Traorč came to my attention through a Dog Brothers video, incidentally. Brent Lewis and Peter wood were found through searching on itunes, afterwards I noticed the Dog Brothers webshop sell a lot of CD's by those guys.
Back to youtube videos
I like this one. Boohey Barian by Hadiqa Kiani. Very pleasant music.
