Good call on the Cash song.
I wasn't around early enough to remember the following lot, so I've taken them at self value and find that the music just picks me up and makes me see a lighter side to violence. if there was any controversy to do with them then I apologise, i've never researched them.
Enjoy

I believe it's Johnny Cash during the intro of the remake of Dawn of the Dead
I only just started checking out this thread. I'll be posting up some music. But first song that comes to mind as a power song....
'YOU'RE THE BEST!' from The Karate Kid. The movie that started it all for me. I could identify with Daniel-san a lot.
Sharif.....when you say you identify with Daniel -San, do you mean you were touched, as a boy, by an elderly, foreign caretaker?

Who told you??? It's true.... and the worst part ... I enjoyed it!
God, I feel so dirty. I need a shower...
Aaanywaaayyy...
I've got loads and loads of songs I like. And i've always done this thing since I was kid: without consciously doing it, I basically imagine a kind of music video to go with the song. which usually involves me and martial arts/kicking ass in some form or other. I get the feeling you do the same, Russ? (Or maybe everybody does?) And every time I hear that song, that video will play in my head.
Anyway, here's one I don't have my own video to yet, but I came across it in a Paul Vunak clip on YT and thought it was pretty cool...

me like all of it [cookie monster voice over]
but the johnny cash thing made me find my roots to renegade country--if you can believe it
i have three i sort of like that will take some editing to contribute: not sure if it's a power song, certainly a mood big picture kind of changer. i always like feeling like one of the immortals, like a soldier from eons of lives and deaths--that's the comic book geek in me, or is it
Then there's this. "We got the power - got the poooooowa" What more could you want in a power song?

That last song always pops into my head the day after a vindaloo....

can i be the first to say, "eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww, gross"
actually most of my mates would say the same
that song has suffered more abuse for it's double meanings, one daft bastard i used to know would read porn aloud on a cassette with it playing in the background
if you think vindaloo is bad, try that phal [i think it's called] level of heat in the Bangladesh restaurants in spittalfields. i do believe phal must mean, "nyah nyah nyah, ha ha ha, sucker...thought you were a man, well who's a punk now huh?"
