Unsually bold for mainstream TV.

Interesting, but quite sarcastic coming from MTV.
Think ? MTV ?
There's something wrong in the equation

Another oxymoronic statement - kind of like "military intelligence."

Well it's saying that we're giving too much control over to the government and giving the holocaust as an example of the consequences that this could lead to. I actually agree and the fact that it's MTV who's putting the message out is irrelevant, at least somebody's doing something...

maybe just the first advert of an advertising campaign for the website on there, it seems to bring up a few political issues and stuff such as the holocaust, aids and the elections

do you really think thats what it is saying? that we are giving too much control to our government? is it a pop at the american publics relationship with its government do you think? bit of a risky move for MTV

hmm i think the video could be doing a few things, it could be encouraging people to think about how there liberties are being slowly taken away until they can be interned in camps with no other choice (fitting in with the google video about the gradual loss of civil liberties elsewhere on the site) or its intention could be to encourage viewers to see the nasty police/paramilitary men carting people off and then start there own little paranoid fantasies about how it could happen to them, generating angry and/or fearful responses.
But all things considered its a very open ended piece, and what you bring with you to the advert is a major influence on what you get out of it. probably MTV's attempt at rebranding itself so its more in tune with the current fashion for enviromentalism and politics rather than its current celebrity/affluent lifestyle focus

looks to me to be another part of the mass propaganda machine, http://think.mtv.com/Issues/politics/ no politics featured hear, even some mild george w worship about how hes drilling for oil to save somthing.. or other. yea the idea of the site is to allow 'independant' people to upload vids about things involved in the political campaigns. my question is, what stops an established political party from submitting videos claiming to be independant? potentials include slur campaigns, completly false information and generally shakey camera views.
also they want to save the rain forrest... aww bless, but they wont ditch their car, turn off their tv or generate their own power at home from renewable low carbon resources. rich kids explaining the plight of the poor and doing nothing other than repeating this nonsense again and again. driving to save the plannet rallys in a 18wheeled monstertruck with a bigger engine than a house. much funary
Altho, my personal favourite fact is the rising energy prices causing an energy ''crisis''. Chrisis for whom? not the energy company who are charging more producing the same and promising, yes promising greener energy. ''You to can do your part! turn your washing machine to 30''... um why should i? i mean your the ones making the power? surley its your responsability to ensure the energy you create is not damaging the enviroment? no wait i could be totally wrong, if i use less energy, you charge more, so you dont need to produce as much.. so your making more money... for the same amount of energy sold... hmm there is pattern emerging here
sorry went into a rant, just make sure you read it none stop and dont read it allowed or big brother will send the men in hats round.

The ads are just trying to shock the Mtv viewers into being more aware of the nations politics, and encouraging more of there demographics to be involved in the political process.
ie.'Choose or Lose'

This vid gives an example why MTV might be trying to encourage its viewers to think.(Not just having a go at Americans, all nations have people like this.)

Since voting in the US of A is not compulsory,I think its safe to say they wont.I could be wrong but if they have problems identifing countries on a world map,how the hell are they going to find there voting boths.
Remember,in a democracy, everyone has to be allowed to have there say.(Age and other issues being relevant).Voting cant be just kept to an intelligent sub-group.

sounds like you guys have it sorted out: i thought about it before reading comments and i got these possibilities:
1. don't blindly trust your world leaders, get involved politically or this could happen to you.
2. don't forget why israel takes a hard line--using empathy images.
3. we're living in dangerous times, what's your plan?
4. err, don't take the subway/tube or entertain at frank's house, he's on a serious shit list--didn't pay his paintball fees.
5. um, um, um...use thought provoking ambiguous images that don't really make sense--but sort of could, in an attempt to get people talking about MTV (playing on the 'what does this mean?' impulse, and the 'i should watch more fox TV' fast twitch muscle fiber for the remote control response thingy).
6. buy a flat, and stock up on toilet paper.
well...that's all i could get, it didn't influence me at all. i'm going to go and polish my 357 Smith & Wesson with the 4 inch barrel and the rubber handle--just for fun. if anyone needs me i'll be in my closet. fuck off. who's there? who just walked up behind me?

Regarding the last video i think its pretty sad and sick that people can be that obnoxious as to whats going on in the world especially when their contry is involved in most of it.

Have any of you guys ever heard of the "NEW WORLD ORDER"? Basically it's about a handful of people that will create a 1 world goverment, and enslave the people, and if you rebel against it then you will be killed. I know it sounds a bit far fetched but it's already started coming together in europe and north america.
EU a load of european countries (U.K France Germany Italy Spain Poland ... etc) ruled by brussles
The North American Union or NAU (Mexico USA Canada)
The US have already stock piling 100,000's of plastic coffins .... Here is a vid about it...
Alex jones of texas has been reporting on this for years and here's his websites...
http://www.infowars.com/ http://www.prisonplanet.com/ http://endgamethemovie.com/ This movie lasts about 2 and a bit hours but is free to watch on google
I know a lot of you will probley not think this is rubbish but at least have a look ... what have you got to lose??? ............................................................................................................................... Pete

hiya mate
yeah I have, AJ has some interesting videos but I lost a lot of real interest when I found him blatantly fear mongering
you just cant trust anyone these days... maybe AJ wants to make america paranoid... maybe fear is good for the economy... maybe AJ is a CIA agent... along with David Icke ( that is a joke by the way, im trying to make a funny... not funny? oops )
its hard to cut through the crap - there are adverts on AJ site from companies offering to assist you stock up on food at todays prices in preparation for the coming NWO takeover
cui bono?
there are plenty of problems that are very real right here in the present moment... a war with Russia, involving a country with an important oil pipeline? good heavens! who'd a thunk it?
politics and religion- two good ways to frighten people off a self protection site

Ive been watching a lot of RT or Russia Today on sky it's like bbc news 24 ...but russian lol and i really do believe that they are telling the truth about this conflict.... about that georgia are trying to ethnically cleanse south ossetia etc etc.
there was a few interviews of american citizens trapped over there and they were telling how russia are the peace keepers and georgian soldiers are just killing inocent women and children. while showing videos to back this up.
so i thought i would check out some american news seeing as georgia are allies of the US
and there on the screen was the very same videos playing .... except the US media was saying that the soldiers in the video were russians and the civillians were georgians
It just goes to show that you can't trust what our goverments say then i came across this today http://www.infowars.com/?p=3904
And this pipe line threat... You only ever hear it on US and british news.... yesterday i heard bush saying that russia was threatening to blow up the pipeline to the west, which would push up oil prices YET AGAIN.... and if that happens then the US would take it as an attack on the west.
ITS MENTAL THAT PEOPLE WOULD INVADE AND KILL PEOPLE OVER SOME BLACK STUFF THAT COMES OUT THE GROUND.
It's a joke... our goverments are always making trouble by lies and bending the truth, imagine if it was to escalate into all out war and they start calling in national service. Not just me but you to richie and everyone else on the forum have to risk our lives, all beacuse some gimps in suits decide to tell lies for ther own agenga.
I know i don't wanna have to go to war and face getting killed, and i wouldn't want anyone on here to either. .................................................................................................................................... hey richie i ordered your basic starter pack yesterday, cant wait to start watching it. then i can go and happy slap some dirty 10men chavs LOL .................................................................................................................................... pete
