nice point. but you always see the frenzied wild animal build up in crowd moments like that. the energy
all are feeding on. if given too much time, he'd have been slowly mutilated to death. that's also a
recurring theme. as in india, where a mob routinely descends on someone who's--for example, just
poured acid on a woman's face for not returning affection, etc... the beating continues until, from shear magnitude, a life expires. not just india/pakistan/etc...but also america--in the south, or wherever
when there is fear and hatred mixed in to social perceived justice. the slow approach to killing, not so much as a buffer, but as a slow intoxicating stripping of the layers until inhibition completely dissappears.
i think it happens because each individual is relying on the other to show the red light for the completion of the act. none are actually leading. when there's a real killer in the group, it seems more likely that his
[or her--but unlikely her] actions will show more focus and this will possibly make the crowd back up, possibly not involving themselves in stopping him conveniently for their own collective consciousnesses.
like the jury of 12. it's clean and rationalizing can make it more tidy.
