okay that was awesome!!!
i always relate to music and movement, and i can fixate on my lineage--all celt on dad's side [scots-irish: or to go further, the MacDonald's of the Isles--of Skye, and the Murphy's]. so i always have a listen to all things celtic. on my mum's side, we have family all from capetown--all mixed [so called coloured] and all speaking afrikaans, that dutch tradesman language that turned from dialect to proper language over time. this is one that i liked from the area. i'm still holding out for a rapper from godstone--my gansta wee village in surrey but the closest i can get is mr. b the gentleman rapper

Here's the local hometown rap guys from this end. I tend not to listen to much Norwegian music though.

that's pretty good--some real talent
sadly if we're going off of local talent--for surrey, my peeps are uhm...still working on projects and need a wee bit more time
but if we're getting me out of the denial phase and place me in DC, as a quasi local, than it's the guy below for the unofficial king of whatsit. the music is "go-go", which i usually don't like because it tends to sound like early junk tin can drumming, and off tune drunken lyrics--amplified to club levels when more money is involved. this one by the local dude of gogo, i sort of like. catchy and that. i always like something from a style and this is it. if you ever come to DC, it's alllllllllll go-go for locals, and equal measure mixtures of everything else: punk; rock; reggae; r&b;international; etc...

I'm proud to say that The Coup are just down the road from me. The lyrics on this one are really good -

Also from Oakland are Blackalicious, and this guy from Berkeley - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZseawCNO8g
Then there's Mettalica and Green Day .....
Of course I've glossed over anything Finnish ....... which is probably for the best
.....though this ain't bad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEUw2iyEx-U It's called 'Think for Yourself'

'ello
here's where i'm at just now--quasi reggae poppy escapism, and UB40 just doesn't have the energy that i used to appreciate when i was drunk and doing the no-move-your-feet dance in british discos. swaying back and forth, defying graffiti as all voted on which sway would be the last before i hit the floor. in the days when drunk guys danced next to each other because they new they were shite and the inverse of a babe magnet.
