| That first one was cool with the audio background, plus the put them down and restrain them now approach. The second, at first I thought don't be mean to him he's cowering on the ground and then quickly it became apparent that he was an asshole. | |

| I still wasn't too impressed with the 2nd clip, despite his asshole-ness to be honest. I can't stand to see unprofessional bullying doormen.
He was annoying though...

| Sharif, never been a Bouncer, but used to work in a shitty kick off club, with a lot of underage drinkers as a barman.
Didnt see anything in the second vid, that i thought was unproffessional. They just want him to leave and he wont, whilst they are tied up dealing with his pettiness, a situation may be kicking off somewhere else that needs their attention.
A thousand times I watched twats like this, goad & goad & then whine when they get a forceful response. He could have simply left as they appear to be asking him.
The proper brutal kickings that doormen very rarely dish out, you will never see as they know where the club cctv blindspots are.
I worked nights at this club for a couple of years & hated it to be honest, I can't stand drunks or drunken behaviour but i needed the money. At Xmas, after lockup they used to put on a video of the years best fights off the cctv, so you could drink your free beer & watch highlights of that years nasty shit.

| In the second video, was he famous?
Why was it being videoed [in such quality]?
Deserved what he got if you ask me, coming back and back.. and back..

| Well, ive never worked the doors, so all I can give is opinion. Humble opinion. But for the record, I'm not like totally disgusted with what I saw or anything like that, I just felt they weren't pros.
Why carry on the confrontation down the street from the entrance of the club? Just because he's being mouthy doesn't mean he needs to be responded to. It is possible to ignore guys like this. Once ejected, he was being verbal, not physical. I'd say after that initial massive push off the premises (where he lands on the ground), a bit of posturing from the bouncer would have kept him away. He would have mouthed off to save face, but so what? Let the idiot make noise if he wants.
Options of force (the way I see it, I could be wrong):
1)Choke him out/knock him out; if he deserves a physical response, do it properly.
2)If he's only making noise and posturing, then ignore the fooker. Why get dragged in like a fish? Or de-escalate if you can (quite difficult with drunks)
3)If he's making LOTS of noise and something needs to be done, call the cops and THEN ignore the fooker until they come.
4)If he kicks of physically before the cops come, then either physically restrain him until they come OR...back to point number-one.

4)If he kicks of physically before the cops come, then either physically restrain him until they come OR...back to point number-one. i think you have good points and i say it with equal humility and not presumption. makes sense to me in that light, who knows what happened in the club. maybe they walked him to the door several times...maybe he was cheeky with a girl. but if we just take the average drunk scenario, then creating a sort of fence [20 feet from the door and he's back to getting a hiding], then i can see that working, as a professional. as a human being, if he had clocked me inside, and then mouthed off at me outside, the human being in me might add a wee extra for the after hours when i'm not longer in my professional mode. all theoretical. but you make sense as that very footage, taken at face value can be argued to not appear to have professional parameters. it's always the grey stuff that gets people into trouble. perhaps they should have just bum-rushed him out and knocked him out [for appearance]. less grey to work with. not even being fascitious believe it or not. just sort of thinking out loud. i've seen that sort of thing before. not enough of a strong response, turning messy with in between physicality that isn't really that damaging. that's the stuff that illicits crowds getting involved and harping as well. don't know where i'm going with this , if you do let me know. i guess i lean to thinking it wasn't that bad since it was more of a pride beating. more of a, "i...said....fook....off...you...cunt" type response. to give him that real fear of a beat down. a wiggle of the rattle snake tail. anyway. who knows what happened inside

| Mainly because emotions come into play... IMO.. this goes for all professions that deal with the public in aggressive situations.
How many nights does one allow someone to call them every name in the book before they will no longer tolerate it.
How many idle threats of death tomorrow are received before one simply gets tired of it and acts today.
How many times can someone handle being spit on.
Add all that up time and time again 5 days a week and then just throw a smart ass into the mix and they could possibly receive some pent up frustration. You also find that you can generally (based on a persons actions and demeanor) determine responses based on past experiences and head them off at the pass. Meaning that you thump them ahead of time and skip the part that would have justified it.
Not justifying anything, just presenting a perspective. You make your own decisions based on experience as we all do.
I am not a doorman, nor have I been... well there was this time when I was 20 and I helped at a door of a titty bar outside a base and I did it for free drinks... what a dumbass.
But I experienced all of the above many many times.....

But I experienced all of the above many many times..... Excellent point Roadkill. And you Russ. I can relate in a way with a recent situation. Long story short, I'd recieved a lot of aggro on the road from other drivers over the course of two weeks and each time I 'let it go' (but of course I didn't really let it go, I just didn't respond to them directly). So I must have been bottling it up inside because it happened again and I lost it for a few seconds and almost at a 'situation' with this guy. Luckily I regained control again before I did something stupid. Hmmm.... I may have to somewhat retract my previous post

holy shit. i would never have admitted it if you hadn't said it, but i did the same thing. not at a base, but was a buddy in a club in upper g'town. okay, now i get why we get on so well sadly, i was about 30 and stayed on oggling, drinking, oggling, and assisting for about a summer or so. the best of both worlds. not working. red light. green light. time in. time out. then i met my wife and my favorite hobby abruptly came to an end
