wish me luck, lads

i was struggling to figure out which section to put this in...let me be vague, not alot makes me
frightened, but i'm hours away from my yearly road trip to the mountains where i'll be sharing a
cabin with my mother-in-law, wife, 3-ish year old, 8 month-ish old, pitbull...and no alcohol.
FOR A MONTH

call it a savatical, uh.
this is the lull in my otherwise cheeky and steady flow of responses and contributions. when i come
back--as is the tradition, i'll be getting a huge tattoo, completing the rite of passage.

I believe there is a japanese corollary to this called "shugyo."

Not only does it sound a bit unusual, but rather intriguing. Sounds like something that I could really use right now.
