PostSubject: Life Threatening Situation Last Night..   Fri Apr 10, 2009 11:17 am

Last night would have had to be the worst situation i've been in.

After finishing work I messaged a girl I am seeing asking if she was home, she was so I went over there to stay.

She looked a bit freaked out when I got there and told me that her ex had come to her window earlier in the night but he had left.

Anyway.. later on we were in bed and heard a noise. She got up saying "theres somebody in the house". I got up after her and she went into the kitchen and I went into the loungeroom. I went to walk back to the bedroom and some guy walked in there and turned the light on. He turned around and I seen that he had an axe in his hands. The look in his eyes I can not forget.. psychotic, like he was ready to kill.. that freaked me out the most.

I stepped back and said "who the fuck are you" and he said "who the fuck are you" and come at me with the axe.. I pinned it before he could swing and slammed him into the wall and hit him in the throat with a forearm. I know I hit him several times but don't remember what, but what I was focused on was keeping hold of the axe so he couldn't swing it. There is another guy who lives in the house who I am friends with and he come over to help, but then they had to both go and make sure the kids in the house were safe. Me and this guy ended up wrestling up the hallway, I kept hold of the axe while headbutting him and kneed him flush in the balls, with no effect. We ended up going all the way to the other end of the house fighting and realizing my hits weren't doing much I let go with one arm and drove my thumb into his eye while pushing him into the bathroom yelling "let go of the fucking axe now". He didn't let go and I somehow he swung me right around and threw me into the wall, I ended up in the bath nearly on my back, ended up standing up a bit, still holding the axe and keeping it away from me. I was physically exhausted and the other guy in the house come back trying to grab him from behind, I had no balance or strength at that stage and all I could do was turn my head around and bite him on the head and took a chunk of skin off. He yelled "you dirty cunt, don't bite me" (which is retarded as he attacked me with an axe and then complained I bit him!) I said "if you let go of the axe I won't have to" and kept repeating "let go of the axe, it will all be okay" and was ready to sink my teeth in again or do something else when I regained enough strength, eventually he let go of the axe and the gave the axe to my friend and then run out the door where the police were waiting to arrest him.

It turned out that he had broken in through the window and found the axe in the backyard.

I was just high on adrenaline last night, went and made a statement etc.. it wasn't until today that it hit me how serious it was and that if we had of stayed in bed 20 seconds longer we could have been killed.. and I just can't get the look in his eyes out of my mind.

I'm just glad I am okay and that I reacted without hesitation, that is what saved me.. and stepping up the level of violence when it wasn't working how I wanted.

Now I assume this guy was on some kind of drugs as I hit him in the throat and in the balls full force and hit him several other times and it seemed to have no effect. And this skinny guy was throwing me around when I am quite stocky, he had quite a bit of strength. But it was all okay in the end

I couldn't sleep and don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight, but atleast I am safe.

And of course in these situations you have to find something to laugh at.. so the funny bit about it is.. I was fighting this guy in my undies which would have been quite humorous for my friend when he come to help.. atleast I put my undies on earlier and wasn't in the 'fruit of my looms'.

As obvious as this may seem, I just want to say
REALLY WELL DONE MATE and
GLAD YOU'RE STILL WITH US!

i'm not a therapist, but i think the trial may
help you and your girlfriend process this a bit.

don't know what you can do about the possible
PTSD other than put it into your training so it
feels theraputic. your personality may be edgy
for a while i reckon.

so...was this 'the ex' of your girl? i'm thick for connecting the dots at times.
i inferred from the back response, "who the f... are you?"

quote//

atleast I put my undies on earlier and wasn't in the 'fruit of my looms'.

-nice

maybe you should do an underwear commercial now? scratch
on a lighter side, humor is a great pressure valve to let out some of that
freak-out energy. [one of my first thougts was humor--'i hope Ben brushed his
teeth and gargled after biting that nasty son of a b###']

crikey mate, i'm probably going to re-read your post several times to process
it myself. affraid

Geez Ben, That's hectic!! pale Shocked
Great job to get out of the situation in one piece!
It's awesome that you have the training and experience that you do, so you could deal with a guy like that. It was good you were there.
Glad you are already seeing the funny side ..... and remember, all those guys in 300 fought in their underpants too. lol!

Excellent... glad things worked out.

I will be taking your story into class tonight, I think there is something to be learned here. Drugs? maybe... maybe not, it could have been just this guy's jealous rage that fueled him. Humans can be resilient as hell when there is a strong driving force and that force is a force to be reckoned with.

Again, I am glad things worked out the way it did.

So you fought off an aspiring axe murderer in the undies. The naked warrior anyone? Sounds like it went pretty well in the end. Adrenaline and bruised ego syndrome does crazy shit to people, but it wouldn't be surprising if he had some chemicals in the blood as well, if nothing else than alcohol. The throat thing seems to confirm my suspicions about that whole... throat thing. But it'll probably be more practical to continue that in a thread of it's own.
