am i imagining it, or is it xmas morning!
the push [mid kick] is really good for someone
walking over and applying the same timing/balance to
that initial palm to solar plexus fence-like sting.
it makes sense to think of this for the kick.

[look for slow-mo 37 or 38 seconds in]
and to think of moving in, to get that going in
the neurology, or 'the mental software', is probably
the single greatest think to start people thinking
counter intuitively for their sucess.
i think the majority of people move away, which is
good for being missed, but bad for follow. keeping the
fingers out of it is huge. i've broken, jammed, and all the rest
of it--little fookin weak link digits from reacting with my hands
where my primary muscle memory is coursing in spasm like
preparation for things. having their leg slam into your foot is
huge too, and makes so much sense.
i have mostly fallen into traps of finger jams and lost momentum in
the past...legs have intimidated me. i have some success stories but
it is usually at the great cost of being injured already and super fookin
mad to give one last account. i could have saved my self the grief and
just trapped a leg or blasted in. but this was not where my initial training
was headed, from the dojo days. i was raised on the shit idea of forearm
blocking a kick
whilst standing still-ish, to some degree and god-willing
continuing the strike session. i guess the countless injuries never really
was enough of a wake up call for any of us. the other who weren't getting
injured usually weren't really fighting either. they'd stand back and circle
for a while, waiting for...what i don't know. deprogramming sports combat
is an obsession for me now.
really sound and good to have as an instructional in the forefront
and out of the subconscious.
