The scouser is me...and I too used to call the move a Grovit, it was taught to me as that, but I watched the Catch Wrestling Documentry and the move was refered to as the Grobbit. Also, when I went back to Wigan to wrestle I asked Roy Wood (who was taught by Bill Riley who invented the move) to clear up the mystery and he confirmed it was a Grobbit! I think it was just the victim of Chinese whisper!

just a practical question. i haven't had a chance to test it out with folks. as as an aside i'm sure that if the pressure is on, one wouldn't stand about and gently apply this crank--plus. i'm sure it could be ragged and with little regard for the opponent/attacker's comfort. but as a submission style security professional move, does he have a bollock shot. does applying pressure (if so) nix that impetus to go for the nad-shot. i've (didn't know what it was called then) taken someone straight down from a crank before, and turned it into a blatent choke, in a particularly bad contest style fight where no one truly fears for their life or others kicking when you're down.
i'll try it out anyway, it's just a thought-out-loud pre-trial. it looks like something i like because i already use a crank that roles into a head spin and drop. so it's appealing because the muscle memory is half there already.
haven't done anything but punching lately. punching drills. etc... no training partners lately. boring.
