NOte to white supremacism

Hello all

this one has been bugging me for a bit and I think I even mentioned it in a newsletter a few months ago

Im not down with liberal political correctness and Im not down with the British tendency to put everything except British people and culture first

But Im definitely not into the extreme opposite- yes Ive seen my name popping up on white supremacy websites and yes Ive know for a bit that some of my customers have poltical views that I find distasteful, yes I am white and got the good scandinavian viking genes in me being from the wirral that make for the fair hair and blue eyes of the uber mencshe- No im not interested in your political groups and no I absolutely dont think that majority of this countries probelms are caused by immigrants

yes we are too soft here, yes it is a nanny state, no that doesnt make me want to join the BNP or any neo nazi militia... thanks

I even, to my shame, have worked and trained with a couple of guys who I later found out were into white supremacism- what a shame, and what silly boys they are to get involved in that stuff

Just so Im clear I think that being British is an idea, not a skin tone... "there was a whisper that was Rome" its an Empire thing

We have a proud history of absorbing foreign culture, absorbing and adapting to foreign culture are what the British USED to be known for

We ARE a foreign culture- we are mixed from many bloodlines, most of them succesful invaders, soldiers, a blend of SURVIVING warrior genes (ah thats why we love getting pissed and fighting at the weekend) - I hear people whingin that in 50 years time we will all be "mixed race"- well I got news for you

1. there is no such thing as race- go look it up on wikipedia

2. we already are MIXED

if you are born in the uk you will be a mix of irish welsh scottish french german spanish scandinaian etc

so what does it mean to be British?

we have lost our pride and many people would be ashamed to sport a union jack- why? because it has been hijakacked and is now associated with ignorant yobs and fearful racists and political extremists (wasnt there a time when being a Nazi sympthiser could get you imprisoned?)

Ive just had an email discussion with someone who feels that many of my customers would be sympathisers with far right militia white supremacy types

He then cited that "our ancestors had fought the enemy for thousands of years for our freedom in great britain" he went on to ask "for what was that blood spilt when we are losing our identity?"

ok WHICH ancestors? were fighting for WHOSE freedom? My knowledge of history aint great but I leanrt enough from watching Eddie Izzard's "mongrel nation" to know that that isnt what a history of Britain looks like! in the past thousand years werent various invaders fighting each other for their own political gain and power over land and resources- werent the native english just ploughing the fields and doing what their masters told them?

There are some "ancestors" who fought for "our freedom"that I am aware of- my great grandfather and my great uncle are some of those "ancestors"; against a very clearly identifiable "enemy" ...

dressed in black, skull and crossbones insignia, targeted civilians on a far greater scale than any other terrorist organisation in modern history??- ah yes, I remember the NAZIS!!!

but now people are asking if I want to join their Nazi-flavoured groups because its "the only British thing to do"??? Hello?

Joking aside, this is a non political endavour on my part, at a personal level I do have political views which are noones business but my own but I will say I am against any form of "problem reaction solution" extremism

don't know about the rest of us--and i say that without reproachfulness to the 'rest', but you never seemed like the nazi type to me mate.

and what Richie says about race isn't an opinion, it is fact. race is a social construct, meant as a sort of wicked little power struggle chess move. there are about 5 'itsy-bitsy' genes--out of roughly 1000 that determine skin complection and even this just adds a wee bit more melonin (however the fook you spell that word) which means a slightly higher amount of something we all have. there is greater diversity in the gene pool (scientific fact) within a so-called ethnicity (i.e. all from one country). my ancestors were apparently as varied as scots/irish/dutch/bushmen/berber/jewish--and probably several other cultures (mostly long line of working class celtic hooligans--hmmm). i've never thought of myself as anything other than a brit from a small town. i love/hate all people according to a secret 'dickhead-meter'. and while i can't say this anymore ( ) or should i say ( ), i (erm...previously would) agree with Richie on his point,

in the end, the people i can relate to the most are brave people who have my back...color is such a distant second when the stakes are high, unless we're talking green, like the hulk. i'm racist against the hulk

Many good points. Personally I find this "my tribe is better than your tribe" stuff a little ridiculous.

What I do believe is that any and all things that set people apart perceptually, for lack of a better word, even though it's probably the most specific word... anyway, any such thing can serve as a fault-line at which groups can break up under pressure. skin color, religion, politics you name it. I bet you if you spray paint... No make that tattoo so it doesen't just wash off. If you tattoo a bunch of people roughly half of them green and half of them yellow, you'd see stuff like this starting up.

Put some pressure on a mixed group of people and it doesen't take much manipulation to really make something out of these little fault-lines. Look at that "third wave" experiment, the kids with blue and brown eyes, and so on. With all this terrorism paranoia, and immigration and stuff going on I'm not surprised that some people start drifting in that direction. And there's always someone ready to put that to good use.

BTW I recently saw this on youtube about fundamental muslim extremism, 10 clips, takes about an hour in total, but it was interesting. This is probably how a lot of the white supremacism looks from outside this culture.

Interesting that they should connect it to nazism too. It's like they have used WW2 nazi propaganda as a template and just filled in the new angle. Extremism can be found all over the world. Just as ugly every time. To quote the hagakure.
