...about other cultures and what is quite acceptable and expectable,
regarding those that step out of the normal behavior frame.

i think it was a 'daring doer' thread. i remembered a friend telling me about what they do to shoplifters in pakistan. this isn't pakistan but is what i was talking about. the guy slapping knows he's not going to have recourse. the guy being slapped knows he's lucky if this is all he's getting. maybe if others were around and knew the guy he was stealing from...
