- Hello,
My name is N@@@@@ A~~~~~ and I am a police defensive tactics instructor in the US. I was originally certified as an instructor and trained in an Aikido based system. I have also be trained in PPCT. I was most recently certified as an instructor in a mixed system that focuses on strikes, balance displacement, clinch and ground tactics. I have been reviewing your website and some of your video clips on YouTube and I am impressed. I would like to purchase all of your DVD's but I will be buying them with my personal funds and my wife would kill me if I spent that much money. So I was wondering if you could give me some direction on what DVD or DVD's would be most beneficial? what do you guys reckon? i think sas fight secrets and maybe combat clinchwork or the beta-8 series?

| the part that most people are missing in their training (as you probably realise) is the psychology aspect. so i'd recommend some of that as well. being a police officer, running from confrontations is going to be less of an option i suppose and they will have to face some intimidating people. learning how to deal with that i would say is a priority over techniques IMHO.
what the hell is PPCT though???

| LEO in the US are drilled the concepts of SSV( Surprise,Speed,Violence of Action) regarding DT, shooting tactics, suspect apprehension and control, peace keeping etc but as time goes on, UK LEs seem to get complacent with SOP. The majority of US LEs killed in the line of duty are actually veteran officers rather than wet behind the ears Patrol Officers whose conditioning of SSV are still fresh in their heads. I'd add in psy of violence, combative NLP CD, Verbal threat..any products that deal with bulletproofing the mind. The physical tactics DVDS like Combat Clinchwork and head control are spot on for perp control, but ur secondary to ur psywarfare material IMO Richie W | |

| Not to mention the fence. IMO that seems to be what the majority of the stuff will end up revolving around when it's all put together and placed on the ztr33t. | |

| From a police perspective, clinchwork combat definately!! Id agree with SAS fight secrets and Combat Clinchwork, they have helped me with work (as well as the courses). | |

| Thanks for your help everyone.
I am interested in the following DVD's but I can't afford them all and it appears that some of them may overlap with material:
Core Concepts Knife Attack Punch Proof SAS Fighting Secrets Combat Clinch Work Pad Work Ed Baker Clinch Control
Thoughts?
How does the knife and punch defense taught in SAS Fighting Secrets compare to the Knife Attack and Punch Proof DVD's? How do the two Clinch DVD's compare?

| Victor, I'm in Utah.
After reviewing some more youtube clips I'm thinking I would benefit most from Core Concepts, SAS Fight Secrets, and Pad Work...I would like to get Combat Clinch Work as well but can't afford them all...
What do ya think? | |

| Hi Nathan,
Any material you get from Richie will help.
Me personally, I work in private/personal security - armed. I'm a certified instructor in an Israeli H2H system called HaganaH. Myself and another instructor are working on using Rich and Bob's NLP for combatives material...
The No Doubt No Fear manual by Bob Spour under the alias Geordie Wallce is great - along with the NDNF DVD's on Richie's website.
I plan on ordering the Psychology of Violence package this weekend...
Go with K9nfm's suggestions of SAS fight secrets and Combat Clinchwork to start.

| I don't see the beta 8 DVD's on the website. How do they compare to the core concepts DVD's? | |

| You can find them at www.beta-8.com
And BTW I don't know if the core concepts DVD's you have been referring to are an actual product here. If you have been looking at the youtube clips, do you mean the Mick Coup interview?
If so I believe he intends to create some DVD's but they aren't available yet.

| Thanks
Under the basic starter pack there is a 3 DVD set titled Core Concepts...says it was originally marketed for women’s self defense...

What do ya think? If I put them all in a pack and discounted them it would be... SAS FS- $30 Padworks- $10 Core Concepts (WSD)- $40 Combat Clinch-$60 $140... knock off $40 dollars call it $100 for the pack? I'll put it up on the site if it suits

| Thanks for the offer...I have actually ordered and received that SAS video (fairly basic stuff but that's the beauty of it)...I just ordered the core concepts video (I plan to start training with my wife and I have no idea where to start with her) and your new Solo Drills video (which appears to be exactly what I have been looking for).
Thanks! | |
