Where to start Empty
PostSubject: Where to start   Where to start EmptySun Jul 26, 2009 6:30 pm

I have finally recieved my SIA badge, after 6 attemps of them sendin the form back with numerous reasons why i need to re submit it.

I have bought the jeff thompson book, which is the bollocks. I have also bought Lenny McLeans book aswell which has been a very good book to read.

I would really now like to start a bit of door work kon the weekends, Which is the best way to get involved and what sort of signs should i be looking for to tell me if the place is n e good to work for or not.

I have been told that a very good way to get experience of security on the doors would be to start at a strip club, has anybody had any experience in that firld and how was it.

So basically my question is what is the best way to get into door work and what are the things i should be looking out for when finding work

Thanks in advance

Dom

out of my domain...Richie will have an answer. i only have a question,
"are you just trying to work around strippers???"
it's okay if you are mate, accepting it is half the battle.
lol!

good luck and stay safe

maybe it's a good place to start because your attackers are always distracted
by the show of flesh

"hey you...whoa did you see that"

strip clubs are not an easy start option mate trust me

rather than worrying about the door you should be concerned with the reputation of the firm you are approaching to work for- are they professional, do they have good lads working for them, will they back you up if things go wrong? that type of thing

then you just phone the firm, tell them you have a badge and take it from there- you are going to be clueless when you start, so be polite, listen to what the more experienced lads tell you to do and try and behave in a professional manner at all times

this isnt really a doorwok forum and most advice on this subject given is pure bollocks so I dont really want this thread dragging on

phone a firm, get to work, let us know how you get on after a few nights

all the best mate
