More Taiji for Defence Empty
PostSubject: More Taiji for Defence   More Taiji for Defence EmptySun Jun 07, 2009 2:13 pm

Sorry, the other topic "Tai Chi for Defense" is closed... but I can't leave it alone Smile

I do Taiji mainly for the health benefits like added joint mobility and relaxation, being able to incorporate aspects of Taiji into defence training is a bonus.

A couple of clips...
Taiji, It's Tricky
Taiji Push Hands

Hi nix,
I do more Bagua than Tai Chi, but here's a few 'Internal' clips for you:

First is my Bagua teacher (also does Tai Chi and Hsing-I) Luo De Xiu of Taipai:

This is his class mate Su Dong Chen who teaches in Japan:

Enjoy!

Maija,
i enjoyed watching your teacher.
it's amaizing when someone is really solid/grounded.
suddenly his 160 lbs. translates to about 210 lbs. for
the subtle mastery of body dynamics--his and his
oponents. he's always in balance, tossing all others
who can never quite find the footing they want.

now, here's the question...which one of those guys
in the vid are you--you humble man, you... scratch

'Fraid I'm not anywhere to be seen Russ .... videos were filmed in the UK and Colorado .....!
And yes his ability to control is very good - I describe crossing hands with him as playing with an Anaconda in a blender! Laughing It's kind of a shugga-shugga-faceplant scenrio!!
He fought full contact in Taiwan back in the day and was the guy that dealt with challengers at his teachers school - I guess quite common back then.
He's in his 50s in these clips.
