Hey all. I heard Richie saying something about the harder forms of music and people who train martial arts on the Jeff Moran youtube interview. What music are you into or what music do you listen to while you train?

I myself am into the harder end of techno although i also listen to drum n bass, dubstep, pre 94 hardcore while i train solo.

You guys wanna hear my band? haha. I play vocals, guitar and bass on this track. My buddy H is playing drums and my bro is playing percussion.

The band's called The Abusive Step-Dads. The song is about this serial killer from America in the 20's who entered Canada and was finally arrested in Canada after a series of brutal stranglings of land ladies. Thought it would make an amusing song topic.

Not bad.

Personally I prefer death metal, hard noise techno, a bit of ghetto metal maybe, and any other song from any category that by my fickle standards seems good at whatever time I hear it. Country, classic, pop, jazz, dance, techno, metal or alien reproductive sounds... no nevermind the last one.

Stuff like napalm death, terrorfakt, converter, unleashed, inertia, iriduim, red harvest, front line assembly, sepultura, juno reactor, sutter kain and so on.

Now however I think I'll reserve the hard music for doing POV stuff, where aggression is what I want. And maybe do chillout stuff when training otherwise.

I like that shit too. Napalm Death, Front Terror, Agathocles, Filthy Christians, Fear Of God, Repulsion, Impetigo and what not.

I also have a soft side for no-wave, free-jazz, noise music, garage rock, old hardcore like Siege, Chain Reaction, Death Sentence and what not.

Smile

Let's see... slap together a big youtube list here...

Here's some terrorfakt.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DISrzMTwBAo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrc9YZKnwTQ&feature=related

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA8kt4tmCFA&feature=related

Some converter, also nice gritty dark techno.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NbTcLXaVWk

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKBXGoTlZXc&feature=related

SAM, as above, catchy stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtCryWIW8z4

Hocico, death techno?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9lAIb-Lc_4&feature=related

Napalm death.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0QKBEtnCK4&feature=related

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKW5SkGm0qw&feature=related

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_al5ROynGbo&feature=related

Red harvest, industrial heavy metal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra66C-vMs34

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uf6jf6dMaa8&feature=related

Fear factory, as above.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok9CLFOavj8&feature=related

Front line assembly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXuCNkwUaHU&feature=related

Venom. This song BTW is one of the first black metal songs I ever heard and after all these years it's still on the top of my list.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MjHr-vsdqM

Project hate. Also one of my first.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPr8-LxXdGM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZbZn3WBrzE

Now this is an odd band. Brujeria. The mexican narco satanist metal band...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-ZkubKW72M Hard metal right? But then you get these two songs. Which happen to be crazy catchy too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQ1V-fOtrzc&feature=related

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNN_r1UFLik

Time for some techno again. Juno reactor. Not dark and gritty this time. Just catchy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_xF9oQv0R0&feature=related (BTW this is part 2 of a track, hence the odd beginning. part one should be at the top of the youtube sidebar, it's more of a calm buildup to part 2 though)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jc4XETqgoyQ&feature=related

Astral projection, goa trance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6GRhco-Q5U&feature=related

Now to some ghetto metal. You have GOT to see this. Fucking hell. This is the sickest shit I've found so far. And it's so fucking catchy too. You need to be sign in to youtube to see it though. But it takes like 2 seconds to join and it's definitely worth all the hassle you avoid seeing that half the videos on tube are flagged.

Sutter kain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMRzrqc_zPE

There was another extremely cool one called blood thirst but it doesen't seem like it's on youtube.

Biohazard makes some cool stuff too. Like this, new world disorder.

Some of those bands are cool, Napalm Death-Scum is one of my favorite albums of all time for a long long time. For Black Metal though I like the more primitive stuff instead of the melodic shit. I enjoy Bathory, Possessed, Sabbat, Witchtrap, Mayhem and shit like that if it comes down to Black Metal.
