UK Legal Self Defence Spray - any good?

You can buy on ebay supposed "UK Legal Self Defence Spray" Which is a non-irritant marker gel spray. There are also some videos on YouTube of it being used on willing volunteers.

Does any one have any experience with this as I am thinking of getting me some.

There are different makes, the best appears to be one called "UV Stoppa Spray", another is called "Farb witness identifier"

My first thought on a non-irritant, is why even have it? Except for maybe being able to say “Ya look for the guy with a blue face and that’s who beat me up”

It seems to do the job. I think the shock value would give valuable seconds, enough time to escape pronto that is.

I think anything in the eyes is irritating, even opening them under water is quite hard to do.

I mean, if someone is in your face, or robbing you, it is better to have something than nothing and they would be stained for days after, making identification easy.

Hmmm... Ok looks like that certainly did soak his face and he seem to have some trouble regaining composure, plus its going to be hard to miss that color. In a place where much is illegal yet this is, it does seem like it might be an alternative.

The only problem with these is, like already mentioned.....they just leave a mark and dont do much else. Obviously they do irritate the face slightly, especially the eyes if deployed correctly but thats about it. There is also whats known as bouncer spray. This has a strong smell as well as leaving a UV dye on the face. These types of "weapons" if I used them.....Id either be legging it once it was deployed or going in for a physical strike.....as they will not surfice against a violent attacker......sometimes CS doesnt do the job......AND THAT ONE FU****G HURTS!!
