2 years ago, when I was in a relationship, my avatars were goofy and nonserious as hell. But after breakup, general avatars became more "macho" with that Jason Straham for a LOOOONG time, then 2 months ago firearms and women....very insecure avatars that I've chosen upon reflection...damm middle age life crisis pale

They show what... you want to appear as on the forum... No?

And what does that in turn say?

as time goes by i think you should be really careful what information you put "out there" about yourself... it does have power... the more people who see it (and think about it, lending it energy the more power it has)... could be like a morphogenetic field of consciousness... this could be why all systems of magick put a lot of weight on symbols, pictures and names... or we could go Jungian and say it just sends a powerful signal to your unconscious about yourself and what your expectations of yourself you have...

either way, be aware and be careful

ps
you notice how when actors portray/play injuries in films they sometimes get them?

brad pitt injured his achilles during troy

al pacino nearly blinded himself during scent of a woman

christopher reeves last role? look it up...

pps
by this thinking: you ever notice how if you lie to get out of work you manifest those symptoms?

ppps
people who joke about suicide are 3 times more likely to kill themselves... not attempt to suicide, actually to suicide

pppps
self deprecation would therefore be a dangerous game and some "arrogance" have merit- you could for example start to jokingly say things about yourself to people that you will to be true- these are not "affirmations" which are internal, these are external "assertions"- maybe there really IS a non local field of intelligence and it REALLY does respond to our signals

ppppppppppppps
Im a millionaire

totally metaphysical... Richie is a total hippy on the sly... karmic love vibrations on everyone... I tend to keep these beliefs to myself as they will send some people packing quicker than you can say "nutjob" Razz

i know why i chose mine. i like to think of myself as some annonymous soldier. sort of a wannabe samurai which is more than comfy with
death. i always liked comics where the main character was a little off-in-the-head. there was one named "the badger" who suffered from
multiple personalities. he'd bring down a bunch of thugs, fight demons, etc...in one episode. in another, he'd be biding time in a mental
institution imagining that he was a little girl. one of his personalities was that of a badger. it was hilarious to me. i love ugly, annonymous,
and fucked up characters who have a talent that rivals their imbalance--almost like a universal gift to balance out all the other deficiencies.
i started with the ugly green (bi-polar) hulk, and gradually progressed to more realistic characters that were almost believable. as a teen i
had a temper, impulse control, and if it wasn't for a security job where i worked for a friend who kept stopping me from getting fired, i'd
be in some back room warehouse halling boxes and fussing about working on the weekend. i guess somewhere along the way i always
wished my shortcomings could have been my strengths in an imaginary world. meditation helped make me less of a nutter. i really should
put a 'yogi' as an avatar, but it feels too pretencious at this stage of my slow climb to normalcy. i also liked that movie ghost dog, because
he was an obvious nutjob who managed to find some semblance of balance through a samarai code--inspite of being a weirdo.

don't get me wrong, my avatar results from a mid-life crises of finally achieving consistancy at mundane things like job security and calm-ness, and wondering now and again if i've lost my edge. ha ha.
