Those must have been hella padded sticks to spar like that and go for 2 rounds. And what's with the 'that throw doesn't count cos it wasn't done in one move' strangeness?!! I'm not familiar with Doce Pares rules, but REALLY??
Whatever they were doing does not bear much resemblance to a traditional Filipino challenge match, at least as it has been described to me, real sticks/blades, probably lasting a few seconds and no 'rules'.

Would have been better off caveman swinging all the time & using his reach advantage, I agree on the grappling. Lets just stack the rules in our favour says the home team. Our lad there very much out of his depth & running on MMA default. Love it when he turns his back. WTF?

Have to say the BBC own this style of sporting travelogue. Last Man Standing is a lot better than this.
