PostSubject: ONCE YOU GET THERE: THE ROADS DISAPPEAR & other issues   Fri Nov 20, 2009 12:39 am

I used to watch certain fighters that had an almost weak and sleepy style, occasionally drop people--in sports.
i'd speculate as to the hardness of their hands, etc...

Then i found a certain amount of success--again in sports, with rising punches that sort of come out of no where
[below the visuals of hands-up fighters]. i'd assume it was the head rock thing--and mostly it was i reckon.

Then i saw the clip [again] of Richie's that talks about throat strikes--Richie compared his experience of readying
his throat for a strike against it vs. Rich Dimitri's web-handed one where the guy needed a trachy-watchamacallit.

and i see a common thread emerging. and i'm starting to get an idea to train for the blind side, the relaxed side,
with the goal to rock the head, etc...as before. perhaps relaxed facial muscles--after the initial berserker face [if
it is still going on] preceding the [with poker face] shot of a lifetime. i'm getting an idea that code switching my
body language for maximum mind fook might be something worth exploring.

rather than throw the baby out with the bath water. i spend alot of time brain washing some of my guys into
pit bulls--who need it, and just simply going over tactical and practical nasty workouts for the semi-thugs in the
group [dc differentiated training ]. and while i might be not quite ready to spring these concepts entirely
on my near-thugs yet, as they're sort of growing in me as something to explore, i'm seeing a potential as an
advanced training.

i think revving someone up is more important, taking a wee bit of time to [time permitting] get ones own
haka going for the message of 'whoopsy' to emerge in the fighter--hopefully the adrenaline in the other guy
will be wobbling his knees during the build up. but once you got it going, and, like all fighters you're struggling to
get a quasi learning curve should the thing be lasting near a minute--instead of 30 seconds or less, that's
when i'm thinking a mock relaxed facial could actually [think fred astaire and ginger rogers] provoke an exhale
in the attacker [not longer than a half second kind of flash/glimpse/gesture...as the wind up [like a magician]
comes [perhaps a bit slower for it's reliance on body mechanics--and presuming you {one} is getting a bit
spent from the initial emotional explosion] and with some forward mechanics for good measure, takes that
fooking peanut off it's display shelf.

not sure, just sitting here like a mad hatter thinking about fighting. i only train for one game face. and i was
sitting here wondering if the ebb and flow that guru's taunt a disciple with, could work to rock the attacker of
the signals that they may have been gradually forming a learning curve over in a slightly longer engagement.

SECOND SUBJECT: for those who need a transition [appologies for the uneditedness; from a dyslexic and all]

one of my guys has been told he'll be jumped this weekend. i'm taking it seriously that:
a. he's unlikely to lay low--as he's already engaged enough times with individuals that this response to not backing
down will happen at some point.
b. calling the cops for him; his neighborhood; etc... is also out of the question--and only prolongs the obvious
c. he just doesn't give a fook and his willingness to bring it on has long been acculturated as a survival trait that
is geared to override his fear for such scenarios. as in, "lets go! what the fook are you waiting for???"

i'm meeting with him tomorrow for things that he should now anyway regarding multiples. mostly i want him to
have a go at feeling the weight of the thing--in the absense of real conditions. taking one out as others try and
tilt the scales unfairly. worry about knives. making sure running is way high on the list. not doing the boxing
thing--especially since his ego is tied to it from past successes. i'm hoping to get him saturated in really rough
head controls, elbows...moving, moving, moving. and like an old fashioned doctor--ear/eyes/nose/and throat.

weird to think about but i don't really want to see him ending up in the ICU. nasty shit, that may peter out of course
for his, "go ahead...do it"--ness. but i'm not counting on that. morally, it's a weird place to be. i want to constantly
get him in a place where he is trying to be left alone, but once unable to, ready to unleash a storm of violent intent.

i'm okay with the idea of everything that he is asking from me, but i'm only a wee bit uneasy that i don't know all
the information. i'd hate to think i was training a guy that has been feeding this fire himself. bringing it on himself.
because there's no denying that his fast upward curve is part his fearlessness, and part my working with him.

odd days. but one thought led to the somewhat isolated technical and tactical thought that started the thread. because
the terrain forced me inside my head and had me thinking of all things fighting. should have called this thread:

poker face plan B wind-up
&
training a guy who may get jumped

i'd have started two threads but it's busy here in domestic land, sorry lads...and lasses.
any input will be well recieved on either of my two inner preoccupations. the first, being something i've been toying
with, and the second being something that's been annoying me with the seriousness it represents. i get about an
hour with the guy tomorrow. i'm trying to clear my head and take in his personality, his greatest chance to stay safe
but not look too much like prey doing it--as his neighborhood will always be an issue unless he goes into hiding.

these aren't kids from my era, that hold the promise of split lips and broken noses. these are the modern day shitbean
that come back with numbers if they can't do it themselves--some of which carry knives and guns.

okay, i need a another cup of tea. thanks for indulging.

Rus, on the first part, are you talking about non-telegraphing, no indication of intent then pow? Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick with nails in it?

On the other point, hmmm, its going to happen? Nothing this guy can do to circumvent it? He's been forewarned, cant he just avoid, will they visit him at home?

Whats the numbers?

Does he know the BG's involved? If he's handy & it definetly is going to happen, why is he not hitting them indivdually first?

If there are multiples can he carry something to use? an equalizer?

If this has happened previously, what was the M.O.?

Dont like to think I'm encouraging needless altercations, but can you run blindsiding drills with multiples? teach him to manoevor so they get in each others way? How likely is weapons? Sounds extremely likely if this is preplanned.

I dunno mate. Seems to be looking for trouble to me, but then I am a big cowardy custard, If I knew this was going to be happening,I would try to avoid it, If absolutely no way to do that I would be visiting those concerned in a ski mask & a fucking big stick 2 days before,1 at a time.

He really cant call the cops? Why, is it an honour thing?

Sorry if I am not being helpful

yes, i'm talking about--thank you for translating by the way Laughing , not telepgraphing...but after heavily
telegraphing...sort of switching up from total agro to a feign moment of exhale [but only a moment obviously],
then coming from below, out of the line of sight [after an all in view onslaught]. it's the kind of thing i'm
thinking of becuase i've been teaching coming through the front door loudly and agressively. perhaps if
i were all sneaky like, i'd be considering something else.

more importantly, i was thinking about changing the personality of the fighter--mid stream, as a desception.

it felt like an epiphany to a one dimensional guy like me lol!

and as for the other guy. he's been doling out beating one on one for some time now. they're all having a
get together as it were. he's proved attack proof, in their level of skills...but being jumped out here can vary
from 'ha ha, mother f*&ker, you're not so great" to "now we don't have to worry about that mother f*&ker
again". he's uncertain of the numbers, the last time it was three...one caved [confidence wise] the other he
dropped [but not fully k/o'd] and the third he head slammed into a wall and watched the stunned look on his
face as blood trickled out of his nose. so i'm guessing there'll be a dozen shitheads all gathering with
wild dog excitement this time around. it's pretty serious potentially, as they're already not flat out boxing
neighborhood style pecking order fights.

it's a total honor--have to live in this place, thing...there a real possibility of a weapon as they have a
fear/respect thing going for this lad. already present for the numbers--they've long given up on their
one-on-one role. now they're behaving like a typical d.c. 'crew' [impromtu gang].

you are being helpful BTW, and i'm guessing he hasn't gone looking for them because it hasn't occured to
him [or myself]. his such a loner type, that i'm not convinced he has proper back up [ there are several
he's mentioned, i'll bring it up]. as it's neighborhood'ish, they all know where to find him, etc...local pecking
order stuff. not sure how this chess match works best for him in the long term. but i'm just trying to think
about keeping him out of the ICU [or worse] in the short term. i'm thinking pre'emptive now--thanks for that.
i think of that all the time with one on one.

I dont like this situation, & I am unsure what I would advise, apart from avoidance or the other thing, & i like avoidance better.

I'm trying to visualize what your describing for your state. Not getting it. Will re-read your post tomorrow when my mind is working.

Take care.

the main instigator was out walking, my student met up with him, both engaged...i don't have to tell you
what happened--in short, he knocked him out. this is the best possibility for him. once a strong personality
gets dumped, he tends to turn into a quiet laughing stock--cruel world but no more threat [in the short term]
for my student. i worked with him for a while yesterday, about avoidance, about not making any pretense
of a 'contest' mind.

Glad it worked out well, hope there is no comeback but eyes in the back of the head for awhile.

Still thinking about your state thing.
