the arsehole in the clip had been picking fights all night.
the bouncer shut him down gently like a child, and the crowd
stopped the one presumptious dickhead trying to intervene
with the bouncer.

love this clip. so many levels. interesting about the person not knowing
the situation and trying to 'involve' himself in thwarting the bouncer. possibly a
dickhead himself that was once rolled by a bouncer--but theis is just wild
guessing scratch

if you don't want all the build up, watch at about 3 minutes

That was interesting... long, but interesting.

I assume he was going to hold the guy until the cops arrived and then changed his mind...

PostSubject: Re: SO NEATLY DONE: A BOUNCER CLIP   SO NEATLY DONE: A BOUNCER CLIP EmptySun Aug 23, 2009 7:56 pm

There are many things I can say about this clip... most of them probably in some way taking the piss out of our American cousins. But I shall resist.

First thing, I love that classic move that people do right before they pre-empt in some way - the look over the shoulder. If you missed it, watch Mr Bouncer. I guess this could be for one (or both) of two reasons 1) reassurance that his mate is there to back him up 2) to distract Homeboy.

Second thing is that I notice he went in really soft. I'm tempted to call it a choke - but I'm not sure it starts off as one even if it turns into one. Anyway, whether Mr Bouncer did this deliberately (tactically) or just because he's slow I don't know. But one thing I remember learning from Peter Constidine is that a relatively slow (non-snappy/flicky/explosive) pre-emptive move has more chance of success because it does NOT trigger the flinch response in Homeboy. I mean look how Homeboy - after doing his little posturing dance - just lets Mr Bouncer put it one. Almost like he was hypnotized. All talk and no trousers it seems. On the subject of clothing, notice that Homeboy is wearing a vest under his t-shirt (as if he really needs that extra shape to his physique just in case nobody can't tell from his arms that he works out)

Lastly, why Mr Bouncer kept him there for so long? Could be for several reasons: waiting for cops, fear of letting the tiger loose, or plain old pride (must maintain Alpha position)

Finally, my own opinion.... Mr Bouncer is a brave guy. He hid his fear and adrenaline symptoms really well. He also approached and engaged a man who is obviously very strong and athletic. And he did so softly! I'd have been shitting it so much I probably would have used much more force, if only out of fear.

Nice clip Russ.

hi guys,
funny about what tacpro said about looking over his shoulder. when saw him do it the first time i cringed. one of my mates had a nice fast response to pre-empt when someone did the over the shoulder look.

my take was that he didn't know he was going to do it until he did it. that slow style was a bit odd. i think he sort of surprized himself and as roadkill implied...didn't want to release the tiger [probably thought he'd be going nighty night, but still felt like a coil. he was also possibly waiting for that big samoan who came in at the end--confidence builder that would be lol!

i had to laugh at the girl booty dancing behind the guy at the beginning cheers

i thought he was just looking at the other doorman to make sure he had his attention

why are they wearing what look like beads?

why did he hold him in a restraint on the ground for so long?

why was the girl doing a booty bounce behind the angry dickhead?

as I say... bewildering ...

but interesting clip, good find Russ Very Happy

The clip shows the frustations of doing door work.
Your looking at the other patrons walking in and out while having to keep an eye on someone who wants to go physical.
Other people who get involved(ie.girl dancing behind guy),making fun without realising they may become involved, making the situation worse, and may become injured.
Get involved in a conversation, which goes nowhere, asking the guy to move on(which he wont) and you know the guy wants just one touch to justify a fight.
Shoving the guy away will lead to a fight and the crowd will just say Bouncers going overboard.
Okay it goes physical, control the guy by putting him on the ground(So you dont have to throw strikes)and await police arrival
Keep the guy on the ground or release him?
Releasing him could just lead to the guy wanting more and even worse outcome could occur.(ie large fight with more people involved)

But what really pisses me off is that stupid guy in the green who doesnt know the story.
'You dont know all the facts"-Response "I dont care".

What if the guy had just bottled some innocent patron inside or sexually assaulted a girl?.........Green shirt-"I dont care".

green shirt was a tool who had eaten too deep of the "agenda sausage" no doubt.

maybe he had been choked by a doorman once, liked it and found it left him confused and angry about his own sexuality... "do i like men now? do i like to be choked? who am I?!!"

maybe the doorman reminded him of his ex boyfriend who cheated on him ... we will never know

in the UK Im pretty sure you cant hold someone against their will like that, its called "kidnapping" or "unjustified imprisonment" or "cottaging" or some such technical legalese

I would never do it (squire) and if one of my lads had done it I would say "stop doing that please, we arent the police, get him off the property and let him go about his business, thank you"

get him off the property, make him go away

holding him there was neutralising one of the two doormen on a busy door, aggravating the drunken sausage brigade and generally just not fulfilling any purpose

we dont "hold" people, we move them... away

and it wasnt a case of holding him for the police as a result of some dastardly deed either, he was being allowed to walk away at the beginning of the clip, his dastardly deed was gobbing off and being a pain in the arse
AND
they didnt hold him for the police, they handed him over to an extra from "dog the bounty hunter" for some more intense, private "controlling and restraining"

scratch

its an interesting clip, I liked the "dont fucking touch me" when sausage jockey started poking the doorman and getting involved- brought back memories, not fond ones, but memories none the less

I think the bouncer understood that the obnoxious man was only a child in need of love, so he gave him a nice big hug. Then had the man sported off to a more private location for some extra loving. Shocked Razz

Green shirt was only jealous of the attention.

lol!

all this talk of sausages has made me hungry. a friend of mine was singled out for an impromptu
fight. he nailed the guy and dropped him, his 'agenda-sausage' friend came in yelling, "hey that's
my cousin" and got EXACTLY THE SAME BEATING. it was hysterical. it was like someone pressed
rewind on a remote control--but somehow changed the actors face.

scratch lets see that again in instant replay

that's what i had hoped, erm, i mean quandered the progression was going when i first saw the clip

That would be the Greek God Dionysus..............the god of wine, the inspirer of ritual madness and ecstasy.

Now in a court of law could the bouncer be in jeopardy of false arrest.Could be.
But the 'Patron' could be also considered making an assault due to making a threat and be in a vicinity where the threat could,by reasonable belief, be acted out.
(This could all vary due to the different countries laws but im going off Common Law,the contribution of England to the legal systems of most English speaking nations.)

Where Self Defense and/or reasonable force goes into Assault(common) is one of those things you guys
(who read this forum) might find an interesting topic to look into.

its an interesting subject, from previous experience I would say the actions of doorman didnt constitute excessive force... but... erm... prolonged force? I wish I understood criminal law more better. I bet you could make a case for him having behaved illegally, whether he would be convicted is another story.

I think the bouncer could be held responsible for something (insert legal term here). As has been said, He should have just got him off property and not put on a choke he didn't know how to apply.
