| & I'll start too! Meditations On Violence by Rory Miller, cos I really liked it. The Gift Of Fear by Gavin DeBecker, excellent & informative on a host of stuff relating to safety from bad people. & just finished Wasting Police Time By PC David copperfield, which you can read as a blog online. In my experience, he is not joking about the paperwork How crime is recorded is a right bloody eye opener! |

| As a companion to the gift of fear. Sanfornd Strong's "strong on defense" is a good one. _________________ "I have a high art, I hurt with cruelty those who would damage me." — Archirocus, 650 BC

| "The Fourth Star - Four Generals and the Epic Struggle for Future of the United States Army" by David Cloud and Greg Jaffe Heard the authors interviewed on the radio - have not read the book but it sounds fascinating: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/25/books/review/Filkins-t.html _________________ "It will be difficult at first, but then everything is difficult at first". | This isn't a recommendation...not yet anyway because I've only just started reading this particular book. I picked it up a month or so ago and have just got around to having a butchers. It's called 'Attack Proof' written by the developers of the Guided Chaos self defence system. I was just curious to know if anyone had heard or has experience of this system. From what I've read so far, I haven't come across anything that makes me think it's a crock. I'll finish the book and post my thoughts on it! |

| Hi Robbie Only just noticed your post. What do you think? I was going to ask for this for Xmas off someone. Sent Ritchie a post asking for a review & he thought it was worth getting. I am currently reading How To Make Friends And Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Always meant to give it ago & it is surprisingly relevant for SP, the very first chapter talks about predator mindset & criminal behaviour!?! For a book written in 1938, it loses none of its power for its age. Man, the social animal, is still the same & the desires that drive us haven't changed either. Think you could do with some help with your social skills? Why not wander down to your local library & pick up a copy. I'm glad I did. |

| Wasnt meaning to put words in your mouth Ritchie. Apologies if you took umbrage at my actions. Pure coincidence I assure you. Read Robbies post following a bout of insomnia this morning after I asked your opinion. Hope we are cool. Edited this because I wrote it out twice in two tabs then posted the wrong one. Hopeless.

| Blakops you got the wrong end of the stick mate, but I was waving the stick around in a very vague and confusing way, my bad "see the difference" was a reference to "see the difference between my post and my pm?" do you get me blud? admittedly it wasnt a very good joke, and I should probably stand in the corner _________________ “One should die proudly when it is no longer possible to live proudly.”

| Hi fellas, I'm half way through the book now and have found it extremely interesting.. definitely worth having in your library next to Ritchie's works I think! I was contemplating buying the accompanying DVD's, but as you said Ritchie, I would cherry pick some of the stuff they because I wouldn't be too sure about practising/employing some of what they do. That said, I would like to have the opportunity to physically do them before dismissing them. Their website has plenty of video clips which show you a little what they're about. Nice Xmas prezzie I think! |
