well if you're desperate, although I expect to get close to capacity, there might be one or two spaces on the seminar at my club 5th april. East midlands isn't exactly on your doorstep, but it's less distance than Richie is travelling. Private Message me if you're interested.

Hi fellas, real name Maurice Oldridge. 51 years young. Used to be a ginja ninja but now I'm just greyish and silvery. Like to keep training as realistic as possible. Dan grades in Ki-JU-GO, OCFM and "Wado" based karate jutsu, (4th Dan). Chief Instructor of Ryhill Martial Arts Association, Wakefield, Yorkshire, (no website, yet), British Combat Association "Self Protection Instructor", (E.S.P. (Enhanced Self Protection)), Coach with "The Way of the Spiritual Warrior", Ass. Coach OCFM. My first foray into the martial arts was as a student of western boxing with St. Patrick's Amateur Boxing Club, Leeds aged about 11. I enjoy the stuff that Richard has been putting out and agree with the greater percentage of that which I have seen. (Or I would certainly not be writing here now). Hope I will be able to make worthwhile contributions to the forum at a later date!

Hi, I first got into RBSD when I bought the SAS dvds and it through a whole new perspective on my limited view of 'self defence'. I have never done any formal training in any martial arts, and what I'm learning is from the likes of books and dvds, I'm 45 but I never view age as a barrier because I personally believe that it's how fit you are.I live and work in the North East of England .

Iv looked into it and im thinkin about mma training at a local gym, any suggestions? You could try martial arts concepts, they have 2 gyms. One in Halesowen and one in Dudley, they offer Brazillian Jui Juitsu, I think its the Gracie Barra variety. There is also Rob Clarks martial arts academy, which is over Cradley Heath way. They offer Combat Submission Wrestling. Just google either of them. Good luck, and happy training!

Hello everybody, Just recently came across the streetfightsecrets website, and I'm very impressed with the concepts and materials being taught. I've been practicing and studying various martial arts for over 20 years. I've also coached high school wrestling for 7 years and competed in a few submission grappling tournaments. For the last 2 years I've been teaching self protection/combatives at a local gym. Yesterday I watched the Cycle of Destruction DVD and was pleased to see that I do a lot of similar drills with my students, so I guess I'm on the right track. I'm looking forward to learning more. Thanks, RCS (from NY)

Hi everybody, My name is Ron. I'm 20, went down the martial arts track for a bit in my teens but a nasty ambush by multiple attackers made me see that pretty uniforms and long katas just don't cut the mustard. I complied and got out without a scratch but I knew that things could have been different - and most importantly, that it was my responsibility to ensure next time I would be better prepared. This led me on a long road of self discovery and interesting choices. After finishing school and being a bit unsure of what to do now, I ended up casually working at a large department store as a sales assistant. After watching some citizens arrests being performed by the loss prevention team I decided to give security work a go. I was told by my friends and others that I was too small (at the time I was skinny and had the muscular fortitude of a paperweight) but I decided that I was going to do it anyway, adapt and deal with whatever happened. It was hard balancing it with uni but through the help of some loyal friends and family i got all the training done. Now im still juggling loss prevention work with uni (studying to one day be a police officer). I have only been involved in a few situations here and there (including one particularly frightening standoff with an angry dog) and I have lots to learn but hopefully listening to people like Richard Grannon, Bob Spour, Loki and the other members of the forum will help me grow and I hope any contributions I make will be helpful. Enough of my crap! Have a great day! Ron

Hi, I'm Carl Sagan and I'm an alcoholic. (Wait, wrong forum...) Maybe I should revert to my name from my old forum... I'll think about it. I have been into martial arts in general since I was about 10 years old. I have no affiliation with any government agency and despise the monkey alphabet organizations that dance for their organ grinders. Hardcore into JKD and various styles like Kali and Silat and BJJ since I was 20, until I got divorced and had my heart, testicles and wallet wrenched from my body, leaving me a shell of a man with no purpose but to drink heavily and find out if what I knew really worked. Some things did, and a lot more didn't. I can be abusive when I drink, and you will probably know by my posts if I am drinking, or if I am extremely hyper, you will know that I am eating stimulants such as ephedrine or black market amphetamines. No harm intended in any case, so bear that in mind. I am here to be a pain in the ass and give advice that you will probably not appreciate. Having said that, I love you all. (in a non-homosexual way...but hey, you never know...) Peace

Hello. my name is Richard. 22 years of age. I'm from Norway, and I've done some Muay Thai, some "general fighting stuff" similar to Krav Maga, and even more general stuff. These days I don't adhere much to "styles" and the like, but rather just pick good stuff from wherever I stumble on it. A few years back I got so disillusioned with martial arts that I couldn't even say the term without getting an expression on my face as if I'd tasted raw sewage. Too many lies, too much silly posturing and too much ignorance going around. After that I decided to find my own approach based only on what I knew was true, and that seems to have been good so far. I'll probably grow just as fed up with the whole covert-persuasion scene as well if my spider-senses are correct. There's a lot of nonsense going around in those circles as well. BTW I like the streetfightsecrets focus on psychology as well as violence, because those two things seem to be my only consistent interests scince I sprouted a brain a few years ago. Not that I'm such a whiz at it though, I'm more of a nerd. But I try to be as un-nerdy about it as possible.

Hi Guys I'm 40 this year and live in Glasgow , I have spent most of my life dabbling in many martial arts, fighting arts, street fighting methods. I'm a jack of all trades but a master of none. I've trained Judo, boxing, Shukokai Karate, Jun Fan, Wing Chun, Kali,Muay Thai, Hapkido, Systema etc etc blah blah blah to name but a few. I have found that most had something useful to offer, however regardless of the system I have found that I fight MY way, if you want to be all Bruce Lee about it ,I practice my own JKD . Along the way I've met probably 3 instructors whom were worthy of not only representing a system but of being known as truly dangerous people. The rest were , in the main, egotistical , surrounding themselves with fawning devotees to whom they sell stories and Tshirts. Anyway troops I'm not bitter , I am however too long in the tooth to suffer fawning sycophants and their wet dreams that pop up on many other forums. I have a few a Richies DVD'S and he's not getting them back Bollocks , there all right I suppose, bit different from all the other stuff, nowt special really There are no jokes in psychology is that correct Richie
